JULY 6th: LAVAL, France - The 27-year-old Steels, recording his sixth Tour de France stage win in two years and 51st career win, stormed home to take the sprint ahead of German Erik Zabel with Australian Stuart O'Grady, who also leapfrogged over Armstrong into third, edging it in third.

JULY 7th: BLOIS, France - In a stage featuring a Tour de France speed record, Italy's Mario Cipollini surged past Germany's Erik Zabel in a photo finish today to win the fourth stage.

JULY 8th: AMIENS, France - Italian star Mario Cipollini, who had thought of retiring from the race two days ago, lived up to his name of the Lion King as he fought back to win his second successive Tour de France stage here on Thursday when he took the 233.5km fifth stage from Bonneval.

JULY 9th: MAUBEUGE, France - Italian ace Mario Cipollini was awarded the 171.5km sixth stage of the Tour de France from Amiens to Maubeuge today after Belgian Tom Steels was disqualified by the race stewards.

JULY 10th: Thionville, France - Mario Cipollini became the first Tour de France rider to win four successive stages for 69 years. Cipo won the 142-mile seventh section from Avesnes-sur-Helpe to Thionville ahead of Australia's Stuart O'Grady and Estonian Jann Kirsipuu.
